You Can Now Listen to My Insights on Community Supported Agriculture in a Podcast-and Participate in this Discussion in an upcoming symposium

I have made an appearance as a guest on Ag Law Today. You can listen to the podcast here. The podcast explores the intersection of law and agriculture. It is hosted by attorney Cari Rincker, and produced by the Animal Sciences Department of Purdue University. The podcast is geared toward food communities throughout the country, and confronts issues ranging from estate planning to employment law.

In the recently aired podcast, I talk about community supported agriculture-what it is, and how it helps growers manage risks. I also discuss best practices in rolling out community supported agriculture. Community supported agriculture is becoming more popular among consumers who have grown to appreciate the importance of local food systems.

I enjoyed talking about community supported agriculture in the Ag Law today Podcast. In fact, I still can’t stop talking about it. I will be covering the same subject at a free workshop offered by the Florida Farmers Market Association. I want to invite you to participate. The workshop is for farmers market managers, farmers market vendors, and direct-to-consumer producers. This two-day training will focus on business, marketing, and food safety best practices for direct-to-consumer food entrepreneurs. I’ll be offering a workshop on August 18 and there is a full line up of great presentations and workshops, ranging from ‘Food Safety 101’ to ‘Creating Systems to Increase Efficiency’. I hope you’ll join us! I’ve attached the full schedule. Here is the link to register for Day One (focus on food safety best practices) and for Day Two (focus on diversifying and strengthening farmers market & direct-to-consumer business practices). Please feel free to share with other folks who you think might be interested!
